Hello and welcome to Rebel Loons’ Grooming Parlor! 

I’m Joe, the Rebel behind the Loon.  I’d love to welcome you to our special space designated for all to feel wildly free to express their true self through hair care and the craft of barbering.  At the Rebel Loons’ Grooming Parlor, we create a radically inclusive grooming experience where every client—especially in our LGBTQ+ and veteran communities—is free to express who they are, unapologetically and with pride.

I am proud to serve Bloomington and the Twin Cities Metro area.  I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa, but have made Minnesota home since 2019.  I have been a loyal Chicago Cubs fan my entire life, but since moving to the Minneapolis area, I have been introduced to the incredible world of women’s sports (HUGE shout out to Jillian Hiscock and the amazing folx at A Bar of Their Own).  I now consider myself a fan of many of our local women’s teams including but not limited to the Lynx (WNBA), the Frost (PWHL), the Aurora (USL W), and the Gemini (WER).

As a member of both the Veteran community and the LGBTQ+ community, I feel it is important to give back to both incredible communities that have given so much to me.  Throughout the year I seek opportunities to provide free or reduced-cost services for individuals in need or other worthy causes also doing great things in our community.

Please feel free to follow my journey from student to master barber/stylist.  I will continue to share my progress as I advance through school (Moler Barber School of St. Paul) and where I end up serving the community next.  The ultimate goal is running my own shop, but even in the interim I’ll still be able to fulfill the early steps of building Rebel Loons Grooming Parlor.  So come on in, take a seat, and let’s see what we can create together.
